L.A. TIMES ARTICLE 1/27/22- JEAN GUERRERO "COLUMN: THE TERM LATINX WASN'T MADE BY 'WOKE' WHITES. STOP ERASING ITS CREATORS"
"Others argue the term doesn’t do enough. Mexican historian and activist Citlalli Citlalmina Anahuac makes the case that both Latinx and Latino are anti-Indigenous, like the term Hispanic, often seen as centering Spanish colonizers. “The term ‘Latin’ is Eurocentric and centralizes whiteness,” she told me. “By adding an ‘x’ or an ‘e,’ we’re just playing with a colonial identity.”

Book Anahuac for your next event, workshop, or conference.
At the moment, I am available for Virtual talks only. I am a full-time educator and mother and my priority is to be present in those realms. Email me to inquire my fees and compensation. Thank you for thinking of me and expanding your community's awareness and understanding.
